Walking is one of the best exercises. It’s a low-impact exercise, meaning it improves bone-density and balance, with a lower risk of injury and strain than running. Just walking 20 minutes a day can lower your mortality rate, and unlike running, it’s something you can do for hours so it’s an ideal workout for weight loss.
You don’t need a park or good weather to walk. Even pacing up and down your hallway or around your living room can be beneficial to your health and weight, especially if you walk bare-foot, because overly-supportive shoes actually weaken the bones of your feet.
Calculate Calories Burned Walking
Please note that exercises calculators include your BMR, so when counting your daily caloric expenditure, you must subtract your BMR for the duration before adding exercise calories to your daily count.
